The color of the crystal is not only about the apperance, it affects the properties that the crystal holds. Each color and type of crytals has different "powers" if youd like to think of it in that way. According to Simon and Sue Lilly "Our reaction to color is insttinctive and cannot be controlled" (The Essential Guide to Crystals. pg.12, Watkins Publishing, 2018). Everyone is different and percienvess different things and cannot help but be drawn to what we may need and color is the main facotor in that.

Birthstones play another role within different categories of crystals. Each birth month is given related crystals that are considered their birthstones. These stones are supposed to be powerful and connected to those who were born in the retaining month. A lot of people do not know the reasoning behind why theier birthstone is a diamond or emerald they just liek the color of the gem.
