WHY CLIMB?

Rock climbing is a super cool sport! There are so many different levels of experience someone can have when climbing. The best part is, any skill level can enjoy so many types of climbing. Of course, due to safety, certain kinds of climbing such as lead or sport climbing does take certain training. The climbing community is very kind and open to all members who wish to participate! The more you learn and know the more you wont be able to stop climbing.

  1. Rock climbing as a sport was officially started all the way back to the 1800's!
  2. There are many forms of climbing such as bouldering, top rope, lead, sport climbing and more!
  3. You always need safety gear when climbing, the type of climbing will however change what gear is needed.
  4. There are three different types of rock you will encounter when climbing outside: Granite, Limestone, and Sandstone.
  5. Rock climbing can burn at least 500 calories per hour!
