- Q: Do I need to be physically fit to climb?
- A: No, Climbing is available to all shapes and sizes of climbers. Just as any sport, regardless of your physical fitness level, climbing is obtainable for everyone.
- Q: How do I know what level of difficulty I can climb?
- A: Every climb is ranked based on a grade of difficulty. It is suggested to start at the lowest grade and work your way up the ladder. Test your limits safely and find the right level of challenge for you!
- Q: What do the different color holds mean at my indoor gym?
- A: An indoor gym usually makes it easy to differentiate the routes on the walls. Each route depending on the grade will be a different color so it is easy to follow while climbing. There are so many routes to disect, this is the best way to tell just from a glance.

- A: Stay relaxed, tuck your chin to your chest, and try landing from your feet to your butt rolling onto your back. This avoids any harsh impact.

- A: Belaying is a concept used in rock climbing to ensure the safety of another climber. This involves using the equipment with specific techniques during a climb to control the tension of a rope. This provides a secure anchor for the climber.

- A: You want to make sure that you are confident with the grades inside your gym before you move outdoors. The holds within a gym are very different than the natural formed rock you will find. Once you are satisfied at your skills within your gym, safely traverse outdoors with a partner, starting once again at the lowest outdoor grades to move your way up as you go.
- Q: When should I start sport climbing?
- A: Sport and Lead climbing are more advanced levels of climbing. When you can confidently climb 5.10s and above with little takes or slips, you may find yourself learning more advanced skills. You must be confident with your abilities and strength when learning to lead. You must also be well aware of the equipment and safety management due to sport climbing.
